Special Services.

What is CGK ?

On Sunday, 25 September the circuit is arranging an exciting event called “Celebrating God’s Kingdom” (CGK) in the hall of Bishop Walsh School in Wylde Green Road.  There will be a service at 11a.m. for everyone in the circuit as there will be no services that morning in any of the churches.  The service will be a real celebration with Rev Stephen Poxon, ex president of Conference, who is an inspiring preacher.  This event is for everyone from 0 – 100.  There will also be a Praise Party for children which will be led by John Hardwick who is a children’s evangelist.  Everyone is encouraged to take a ‘picnic’ lunch to eat as well as the cakes and drinks which will be provided. Transport will be required for those who don’t have cars.  If you need transport to get there please speak to Ian Thompson.  In addition if you have spare seats in your car can you also speak to Ian.  Each of the churches is being asked to provide cakes which Gill Wallwork is organising for South Parade.  Nearer the time please look out for a request for cakes and offer a contribution to Gill. This event has attracted interest from other circuits in the District and we hope there will be a good number of people there.  Everyone is welcome so, please bring your family and friends to share in this unique event.
Refurbishment Celebration.   As the refurbishment of our premises is almost completed there will be a service of thanksgiving and celebration on Saturday, 17 September at 2.30 p.m. for the work that has been done.  The preacher at the service will be Rev David Butterworth who is the lead Chaplain at the NEC.  Invitations have been sent to those who have been involved with the work and also to representatives of the organisations who have provided some of the money.  The new Mayor of Sutton Coldfield has accepted an invitation along with some of the ward councillors. After the service there will be an opportunity to look round the premises.  Tea will be provided at approx 3.30/45p.m.  To help with catering please look out for details about signing up for tea, for which donations will be invited on the day.  We hope the groups who use our premises will come and join us for the afternoon, and so we encourage you to come and meet our guests as we celebrate together.
